A Special Report on World Daughters Day
A daughter is a wonderful blessing,
A treasure from above.
She's laughter, warmth and special charm,
She's thoughtfulness and love.
A treasure from above.
She's laughter, warmth and special charm,
She's thoughtfulness and love.
A daughter brings a special joy,
That comes from deep inside.
And as she grows to adulthood,
She fills your heart with pride.
With every year that passes,
She's more special than before.
Through every stage, through every age,
You love her even more.
No words can describe the warm memories,
The pride and gratitude, too.
That comes from having a daughter,
To love and to cherish... just like you!

It’s really a scary truth that daughters are not even allowed to take birth in this world. According to a report in 2011, this truth is revealed. In the year 2001, child ratio in India i.e. from age group 0-6, there were 927 daughters compared to 1000 boys. The fact worth noticing here is that in 10 years, when we grew more advance, the strength came down to 914.
This report says that every year, about 10 lakh daughters are killed in female feticide.
In the show “Satyamev Jayati”, even Amir Khan raised the topic of daughters. The investigation concluded that in few places, the ration was very much down. A shocking fact is that our National Capital Delhi is also a part of such places.
Though Delhi has shown some improvements as compared to the report of 2001, but still the results are a pain. Even Chandigarh has shown a improvement of 5.28% in the sex ratio, but still the situation in the whole country is pathetic.

Yes Laws Exist, But Strictness Lacks:
A law was formed in the year 1914 to stop female feticide. The name of the law is Pre-conception and Pre-netal Diagnostic Techniques Act. People were made aware of the existing law through different means. Street plays were organized, paintings were made, ads were posted in TVs and Newspapers, but still the condition remains critical.
A NGO claims that gender determination and killing of female child before birth is very easy in our country. It shows that though our country has laws, but still these laws are not implemented strictly. This is the only reason the condition is getting even worse.
All mothers need a daughter-
someone like her to be
To dress her up and take her out
for all the world to see.
To brush her hair so shiny
the pretty bows to tie
To teach her how to clean her room
and how to bake a pie.
Then one day when she's older
and finds her love so true
She never will forget the many
things she learned from you.
Someday she'll have her children
my wish for her would be
To have a lovely daughter
one who is just like she!
